Robert Burns Celebrations

The last week has been one of celebrating the 250th Anniversary of Robert Burn's Birthday. Sunday, 1/25 there was a Kilt Night at the new The Pub at Fredericksburg. Two other XMarkers from the Internet forum of kilt wearers, X Marks the Scot. com joined me with the kilted staffers to Toast the Bard. You can read about it here.

Saturday night, 1/31 The Fredericksburg Scottish Society hosted a Burn's Night at the Fredericksburg Country Club. We were royally entertained by the Mary Washington University Pipe Band, The Eagles. Scottish dancers with them showed us their well performed steps.

Preston Simms did a wonderful job in being the emcee. His son, Preston once again did performed an excellent performance with the Ode to the Haggis. HRM Melissa Klanecky did one of the best Immortal Memory readings, I've ever heard.

Here's a photo of a few of us in our finery after the evening.

My friend Mein from X Marks the Scot joined me for his first Burn's Night and enjoyed his taste of Haggis! The best I've ever had!

Mein has written a thread of his experience at the Super which you can read here.

I have recorded with the Worldwide Toast to Robert Burns both events which is hoping to establish a Guinness Record.
